Corteforte was built at the beginning of 1400 in a strategic point of the Fumane valley, in the "Osan" district (Roman Voxius). It originally consisted of four side towers connected by a high stone wall and represented an important defensive garrison from raids coming from the North.

In 1600 the defensive structure was refined with decorations and expanded with the construction of rustic buildings. Of the original four, only one crenellated tower remains. 

Since 1990 Corteforte has been a winery and an agritourism.

The company has always been careful to offer high quality products, with particular attention to the types of Amarone which, in fact, by company decision, are not released on the market before seven years from the harvest. The excellence of its products is attested by numerous national and international recognitions and awards.
